Sorrell College remains among world’s elite business and accounting schools
Troy University’s Sorrell College of Business’s elite status has been reaffirmed by the highly competitive specialized business accreditation agency AACSB.
Accreditation for both the Sorrell College and its William H. Carr School of Accountancy was validated by the organization’s board of directors in its July 2 meeting.
Dempsey challenges TROY graduates to ‘be the change’ in their communities
Michael Dempsey, Deputy Chief of Staff for the Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Moore, encouraged graduates to put the skills learned and knowledge gained from Troy University to use in becoming the change their communities need.
Speaking during the recent Phenix City campus spring commencement ceremony at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center, Dempsey encouraged graduates to thank those who had helped them reach this milestone in their lives.
Costa Rica trip an eye-opening experience for TROY students, faculty and staff, and Russell County educators
On May 26, eight Troy University students from Alabama, Florida, and Virginia, along with seven educators from the Russell County School District, joined together with TROY faculty and staff to embark on an 8-day study abroad trip in San José, Costa Rica.
The goal of this study abroad trip was to immerse students and educators into the rich and diverse Costa Rican culture and to experience the country’s educational system.
Literary podcast “Alabama Aloud” returns for second season
Troy Public Radio has launched its second season of “Alabama Aloud,” a podcast dedicated to narrating the works of Alabama’s authors.
Narrated by Don Noble, the first season of “Alabama Aloud” aired from June through December 2023 and highlighted works from Michelle Richmond, Tom Franklin, Jennifer Horne, Daniel Wallace, Marlin Barton, Suzanne Hudson, Wendy Reed, Thom Gossom and Troy University English professor Kirk Curnutt.
TROY’s Monroe County Alumni Chapter to host conversation with the Chancellor scholarship fundraiser on July 23
Troy University’s Monroe County Alumni Chapter will host a conversation with TROY Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr. on July 23 in Monroeville. Proceeds from the event will benefit the scholarship fund of the Monroe County Chapter.
The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Vanity Fair Golf Club, 613 Golf Drive in Monroeville.
