Five participating in Chancellor’s Faculty and Staff Fellows Program at TROY
Five Troy University employees are taking part in a fellowship program designed to increase their understanding of the range and scope of the University and enhance their knowledge of higher education in Alabama.
Dr. Troy A. Coppus, Dr. Shannon Dadd, Mrs. Bre Gentry, Dr. Priya Menon and Dr. Kelly Suero were the latest class to be selected to participate in the Chancellor’s Faculty and Staff Fellows Program at Troy University.
Troy University Geo Day introduces students to geomatics careers
Over 350 students attended the Geospatial Informatics Department’s sixth annual Geo Day held Thursday, March 16 at Troy University. Geo Day gives high school students from around the Wiregrass an inside look into the geospatial industry and an opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge.
Dr. Steve Ramroop, Surveying and Geomatics Sciences Program Director, said Geo Day serves as a great opportunity to introduce the next generation of college students to a growing career field filled with new technology.
TROY alumnus Dr. Gene Butler honored for excellence in music education and leadership
Troy University alumnus Dr. Gene Butler has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to music education in Alabama, earning multiple prestigious honors while advocating for the next generation of educators.
Dr. Butler has been named the President-Elect of the Alabama Bandmasters Association and honored as part of Yamaha’s “40 Under 40” music education advocacy program. He was also named Lee County Schools Secondary Teacher of the Year for 2024-2025.
Dr. Sherrionda Crawford A Leader in Counseling Education
Dr. Sherrionda Crawford, a dedicated professional with over 25 years in the counseling field, has made a lasting impact at Troy University. Since joining the university in 2014, Crawford has held various roles, from Assistant Professor to Department Chair, shaping the future of counseling education while supporting the mental health and well-being of students both at TROY and in the wider community.
Sorrell College mourns the passing of long-time Human Resource Management professor Dr. William Heisler
The Sorrell College of Business and Troy University is mourning the passing of professor Dr. William Heisler, who directed the Master of Science in Human Resource Management.
Dr. Heisler joined the faculty in 2003 and died on March 7.
Bill was a great professor, mentor and friend to all of us for so many years.
