Coleman will keynote Troy University Fall Commencement Exercises on Dec. 15 in Trojan Arena
Alumnus and successful businessman Jeff Coleman will provide the keynote address at Troy University’s Fall Commencement on Dec. 15 in Trojan Arena.
Exercises will begin at 10 a.m. for the more than 700 graduates planning on participating in the ceremonies, including one who will receive the Ph.D. in Hospitality, Sport and Tourism Management and 13 who will receive the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
Jackson Hospital CEO Riley to address graduates at Troy University’s Montgomery Campus
Jackson Hospital President and CEO Joe B. Riley will deliver the keynote address to graduates at Troy University’s Montgomery Campus at 7 p.m. on Dec. 18 in the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts.
More than 150 graduates are expected to participate in the ceremony. TROY’s College of Health and Human Services will hand out the most diplomas with 55 students graduating, followed by the College of Arts and Sciences (39), the College of Education (32), the Sorrell College of Business (18) and the College of Communication and Fine Arts (14).
Sorrell College students compete for $1,000 prize in Sorrell 360 Center’s first pitch competition with the IDEA Bank
Troy University’s IDEA Bank and the Sorrell 360 Center have partnered together for their first Business Pitch Competition where one of four students from the Sorrell College of Business had a chance to win $1,000 for their business.
The four students underwent an eight-week training program where they were taught how to use digital tools, capitalize on opportunity, and how to pitch and present a business idea to an audience. The experience culminated in a juried pitch competition on Dec. 1.
Davis named interim Chief Operating Officer for TROY’s Dothan Campus
Dr. Kirk L. Davis has been named Interim Chief Operating Officer for Troy University’s Dothan Campus.
Davis assumes oversight of campus operations following the retirement of Dr. Don Jeffrey, who served the University for 46 years including two stints as Vice Chancellor of the Dothan Campus.
Family, connection keep Sound of the South alumni returning for Alumni Day
The Sound of the South loomed a little larger during halftime of TROY’s last home game of the regular season as they welcomed SOTS alumni to play once again inside the walls of Veterans Memorial Stadium during Sound of the South Alumni Day.
Alumni of all ages from near and far traveled back to Troy on Saturday, Nov. 18 to storm the field once more in what has become an annual tradition.

TROY claims Sun Belt title
The Troy football team won their second consecutive Sun Belt Championship with a 49-23 victory of Appalachian State on Saturday. The Trojans will now head to the Birmingham Bowl on Dec. 23 where they face the Duke Blue Devils.
