Troy Campus, TROY Online enrollments trending up this fall
More students are studying this fall at Troy University both online and at the Troy Campus.
TROY’s net enrollment stands at 14,537 this fall. Enrollment at the Troy Campus is up more than 2.5 percent from last year, with 5,924 on campus compared to 5,772 last fall. Online enrollment has seen a smaller uptick, at 5,954 from 5,925 last year.
Troy University names new Director of Annual Giving
Sydney Owen has been named the Director of Annual Giving and Special Projects at Troy University.
Owen graduated from TROY in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She moved away after graduation, but returned to Troy in 2020 and started working in the Office of Development in 2022 as an Annual Giving Officer.
She transitioned into her new title in July following the retirement of Meredith Welch, who held the position for nearly four years, including 18 total years at TROY.
Curnutt receives Troy University’s Book Token Award
Dr. Kirk Curnutt, Professor and Chair of TROY’s English Department, has been honored with the University’s Book Token Award for the support he has demonstrated for the TROY Libraries.
Given during a presentation on Wednesday at the Troy Campus Library, the award recognizes faculty who provide service to and support of Troy University Libraries. The award has been presented periodically in the past but was reinstated as an annual award in 2018.
TROY hosts high school students for Choir Day
Troy University welcomed 170 students from six high schools for its annual Choir Day on October 24.
The day started with performances by frequency, TROY’s jazz ensemble, and the Concert Chorale. Students then worked with faculty from the John M. Long School of Music by participating in sessions and rehearsals.

Homecoming Dance Competition
On Tuesday night in Trojan Arena, Greek organizations battled it out in a dance competition for homecoming bragging rights.
Alpha Kappa Alpha holds breast cancer awareness walk
Saturday, Troy University’s Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness walk.
Students and community members were invited to the quad to show support for those who are battling the disease.
