‘Studio of the Future’ anchors new MBA in Music Industry program
Troy University’s Sorrell College of Business has teamed with the John M. Long School of Music in the College of Communication and Fine Arts to offer a groundbreaking program for students and working professionals in the music and entertainment industries.
The Master of Business Administration in Music Industry is one of a select few AACSB accredited programs that blends 18 semester credit hours in business fields with 18 hours in music industry. Registration is under way for the first cohort and classes begin in August.
Incoming Trojans experience life at TROY during IMPACT sessions
Kickball, ziplining, taking ID photos, registering for classes and more has been happening on and around Troy University this summer as over 700 incoming students have completed their IMPACT sessions—the final step in becoming an official Trojan.
Held each summer, IMPACT welcomes incoming freshmen, transfer students and their parents to the Troy Campus for a series of informational sessions and a night of fun at Butter and Egg Adventures.
The ‘Wild Blue Yonder’: TROY hosts U.S. Air Force Junior ROTC Flight Academy with aviation partner SkyWarrior at Troy Municipal Airport
Troy University and the Air Force has partnered to host one of several Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Flight Academies in the country.
SkyWarrior, the Pensacola-based flight school the University partners with for its Aviation Operations minor, is delivering the training to nine high school students and one student from the U.S. Air Force Academy. The students hail from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, New York and Texas.
TROY mourns the passing of donor, golfer and TROY friend ‘Mac’ McLendon
The Troy University family is mourning the loss of long-time supporter and former PGA Tour professional Benson “Mac” McLendon, who passed away on July 4.
In 2001, McLendon and his wife, Joan, established the Lance Robert McLendon Foundation in memory of their son, Lance, a Sorrell College of Business graduate who died at age 29 from Crohn’s Disease. The scholarship they established has helped more than 100 students pursuing a business degree who have significant financial need and come from challenging life circumstances with scholarships totaling more than $750,000.
