TROY IFC supports local healthcare workers with S.T.A.N.D.S. Project
Hospital staff at Troy Regional Medical Center received a warm welcome and an enthusiastic goodbye at shift change early Monday morning from members of FarmHouse, one of TROY’s seven fraternity chapters, a sight they can count on seeing for the next week from the rest of the University’s six fraternities.
With the help of Dendy Moseley, Associate Dean of Student Life, members of the Interfraternity Council (IFC) came up with the IFC S.T.A.N.D.S. Project, which “stands” for “Showing the Appreciation for Nurses, Doctors and Support Staff.”
School of Accountancy director honored by Sun Belt Conference as Faculty Member of the Year
Dr. Steve Grice, Director of the School of Accountancy at Troy University, was named the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Faculty Member of the Year.

Girls State to return to Troy University in summer of 2022
Alabama Girls State will be returning to Troy University in 2022 for the first time since 2012.
A mission of the American Legion Auxiliary, the program provides the opportunity for students to participate in a hands-on citizenship training program that spans nearly 80 years in Alabama.
The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program, open to high school junior girls, seeks to develop leadership and pride in American citizens, educate citizens about the system of government and instill an understanding of American traditions.
Frequency takes the stage for live concert Friday night
For the first time in more than a year, Troy University’s jazz vocal ensemble frequency is set to perform live and in-person on Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
An auditioned, select vocal jazz ensemble, frequency is devoted to performance of contemporary a cappella choral pieces with a focus on the mid 20th to early 21st century and an emphasis on highly stylized and advanced vocal jazz.
The concert is open and free to the public and will be held in the Band Room in Long Hall room 104.
Sorrell College professor demonstrates successful business practices for students with statewide award
Sorrell College of Business assistant professor and Assistant Dean Dr. Dewey Todd has been recognized by the Alabama Retail Association, but not for his work at Troy University.
Todd Farms, his family’s business in Headland, has been named Alabama Retailer of the Year for businesses with annual sales of $1 million and under. The company garnered a Bronze Award.
Hall School hosts international military officers for exposure to American journalism
International military officers visited Troy University on Oct. 1 to get more familiar with the workings of the American media.
Hall School of Journalism and Communication lecturer Stefanie Hicks East, a former news anchor for Alabama News Network in Montgomery, hosted 25 students representing 16 nations from Air University’s International Officer School at Maxwell Air Force Base.
Troy University, Wallace Community College-Dothan ink articulation agreement
Troy University and Wallace Community College-Dothan have signed a memorandum of understanding that will provide a clear pathway for Wallace students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in occupational education.
The agreement was signed by Wallace Community College-Dothan President Dr. Linda Young and Troy University Director of Operations for the College of Education Dr. Kirk Davis on Sept. 29 on the Wallace Campus in Dothan.
