Troy University tops among Alabama universities in Military Times’ ‘Best for Vets’ ranking
Troy University is the highest ranked university in Alabama and is among the top in the Southeast in the Military Times 2023 “Best for Vets” rankings.
TROY was ranked 63rd in the nation and 16th in the Southeast when it comes to service to veterans.

Rosser-Mims honored for her motivational, compassionate leadership by NAACP Chapter
Prior to the start of the 2023-2024 Academic Year, Phenix City Campus Vice Chancellor Dr. Dionne Rosser-Mims charged her leadership team at their annual Leadership Retreat to “Soar into Possibility by Breaking Through Boundaries.” This was a motivational push to her team to break down boundaries and the silos that might be keeping them from reaching new heights.
It is that reputation for being a motivated and compassionate leader dedicated to improving all areas of the community that recently earned Dr. Rosser-Mims the 2023 Educator Award, presented by the Phenix City Russell County NAACP 5050 Chapter at their annual Freedom Fund Gala.
From Malawi to Alabama, TROY alum finds success as an Economist
Martha Njolomole, a 2017 and 2019 graduate of Troy University from Malawi, has built a successful career as an economist in Minnesota where she draws daily from the concepts she learned as a student at TROY’s Manuel H. Johnson Center for Political Economy.

Trojan football player uses platform to help sports editor battling cancer
Josh Boutwell, the sports editor at the Troy Messenger, is currently battling stage three colon cancer. Now, the TROY community is banding together to help him fight. As Camille Coney finds out, one of the main leaders of the effort is a familiar face to Trojan football fans.
Catching Connections Networking Event
Sorrell College of Business held its inaugural Catching Connections networking event in HAL Hall. It was meant to help students find future business and internship opportunities as well as introduce them to potential employers.

The Talk of TROY – ”Alabama Aloud & Speech Tournament” – November 10th, 2023
Earlier this year, TROY Public Radio launched the podcast “Alabama Aloud.” The audiobook-style podcast gives new life to classic short stories from famous authors like Truman Capote and F. Scott Fitzgerald. And it highlights regional writers, as Producer Emily Mosier reports.
