Troy University has been recognized among the best regional universities in the south, by U.S. News and World Report’s 2022-2023 Best Colleges rankings.

School of Accountancy named in honor of Enterprise native William H. Carr of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC
Troy University’s Sorrell College of Business has named its School of Accountancy in honor of Enterprise native William Carr, founder and managing partner of the accounting firm of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC.
Carr was honored Thursday, Sept. 8 during the School’s Accountancy Day festivities on the Troy Campus, where the School’s name was officially changed by Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr.
Troy University’s McNair Scholars program receives renewed federal funding
Funding for Troy University’s McNair Scholars Program has been renewed through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program is designed to provide first generation, low income, and underrepresented student populations the opportunity to increase the attainment of PhD degrees and has been offered at Troy University since 2018.
TROY’s ACCESS Virtual Learning program receives accreditation through 2027
Troy University’s ACCESS Virtual Learning, an outreach program of the College of Education, has received accreditation through 2027.
ACCESS – Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators and Students Statewide – provides equal access to high-quality instruction and greater equity for all Alabama public high school students through the use of web-based and interactive videoconferencing courses taught by Alabama teachers.
Troy University partners with the National Hemp Growers Cooperative to research use of hemp fibers in developing biodegradable plastics
Troy University’s Center for Materials and Manufacturing Sciences and the National Hemp Growers Cooperative have officially joined forces to further research the development of biodegradable plastics by using hemp fibers.
Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor of Troy University, and Nick Walters, Managing Partner of the NHGC, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Troy Campus Thursday morning.
TROY students remember anniversary of 9/11 attacks
Troy University students commemorated the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks over the weekend.
Troy University’s College Republicans and the TROY for Troops Center, along with other volunteers, also paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the 9/11 attacks by lining the University’s main quad with American flags.
The University’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 017 hosted a 9/11 Memorial Stadium Climb on Sunday morning at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Participants climbed 1,980 steps, representing the total number of steps in the Twin Towers, as a tribute to first responders who sacrificed their lives in an effort to save others on that morning in 2001.
