Troy University recognized as a national model for affordability
roy University has been recognized as a national model for providing quality, affordable education in a new report from the Partners for College Affordability and Public Trust.
The case study, published in December 2021, is part of a project focusing on affordability strategies employed by the governing boards of five public universities.
Kline’s leadership legacy honored with the naming of an endowed scholarship by Alabama Lions High School Leadership Forum
Longtime Leadership professor Dr. John Kline has been honored with an endowed scholarship in his name by the Alabama Lions High School Leadership Forum.
The $25,000 leadership scholarship presentation was made in late April by members of the Lions Club. Students pursuing a minor in Leadership Studies will benefit from the scholarship.
Troy University journalism students win top awards
Students in the Hall School of Journalism performed well in recent award ceremonies, earning multiple accolades from both the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) and the Southeast Journalism Conference (SEJC).

Design students’ win streak continues at Regional ADDY Awards competition
A recent Troy University graduate’s creative work recently represented the University’s Graphic Design program at the regional American Advertising Federation Award Competition.
An awareness poster campaign by John Carbone won a Silver Regional ADDY award and will continue on to compete at the national level.
Armed Forces Day celebration scheduled for May 21 at TROY Dothan Campus
For the second straight year, Troy University in partnership with Friends of Army Aviation will host an Armed Forces Day celebration on Saturday, May 21 at TROY’s Dothan Campus.
The featured attraction is the FOAA’s Ride program, which gives participants the opportunity to fly in a historic UH-1H Huey helicopter.

The Talk of TROY - National Poetry Month
Just in time for National Poetry Month, Troy University’s English Department and the honor society Sigma Tau Delta have hosted a poetry reading, where everyone is invited to participate. Troy Public Radio’s Adam Kennedy II read a poem and also reports!
And, TROY students aren’t the only ones celebrating National Poetry Month. As producer Conner Howell reports, a member of the University Administration won an award in a state-wide competition and was featured in a program that aired on Alabama Public Television.
