TROY-Wallace Dothan sign agreement to pave the way into the optometry field for Wiregrass students
Wallace Community College-Dothan (WCCD) and Troy University are pleased to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions for the purpose of providing students with a streamlined pathway from WCCD to TROY in preparation for the opportunity to apply for the UAB School of Optometry.
The official signing ceremony took place on Thursday, December 7th, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Lobby of the Heersink Family Health Science Building on the WCCD Wallace Campus in Dothan.
TROY grant writers secure $32M in grants during 2022-2023 year
Troy University grant writers were recognized during the 32nd annual Sponsored Programs Grant Writers Luncheon held Dec. 6 in the Trojan Center Ballrooms. In the last year, TROY faculty and staff secured $32 million in grants with an additional $11 million still pending.
The record-breaking total comes just months after TROY was reclassified as a doctoral institution by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education on Sept. 8.
Student entrepreneurs ring in the Christmas season with the IDEA Bank’s annual pop-up market, Jingle Fest
Troy University student entrepreneurs and small business owners had their chance at bringing in the Christmas season at the IDEA Bank’s Jingle Fest 2023.
This event allowed the student-owned small businesses to showcase their products and services in a more family-oriented environment.
Grant enables Troy University to continue to offer childcare subsidies for student parents
A program that provides vital subsidized childcare service for student parents enrolled at Troy University’s Alabama campuses will continue for the next four years thanks to a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
TROY’s Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program has been awarded $500,000 a year over the next four years to continue the initiative, which seeks to establish high-quality, campus-based childcare programs to meet the needs of student parents with low income.

Sounds of the Season 2023
Sounds of the Season is presented by Troy University's College of Communication and Fine Arts. The Troy University Jazz Band performs big band holiday classics set inside the story of a 1940’s radio broadcast featuring Theatre and Dance performers and TROY Radio personalities.
Cosmic Harmonies
The John M. Long School of Music and the International Arts Center present Dr. Jillian Camwell (oboe) and Dr. Hui-Ting Yang (piano) performing "Cosmic Harmonies" for oboe and piano by Robert W. Smith. This unique event will have audience members sitting amongst the three artworks by Fred "Nall" Hollis that inspired Smith's oboe concerto. Each movement will be introduced by IAC Director and Curator, Carrie Jaxon, and Assistant Professor of Oboe, Dr. Jillian Camwell.
